Abounding in Love and Faithfulness

April 3, 2017

From the series "God Has A Name." Many of us ache for relationship with God, yet feel distant and disconnected from him. As if he’s more of an idea we believe in our head than a person we relate to. In this series, we discover that Exodus 34v6-7, is God's self-disclosure of Himself. It is the most quoted verse in the Bible, by the Bible, and the epicenter for a theology of God. This series was originally recorded in 2013 and is now being re-release with the introduction of the new book “God Has A Name” from John Mark Comer.

Part 5: Healing of Memories Practice

March 28, 2017

From the series "Dealing With Your Past" as part of Practicing The Way. In part 5, we finish up the practice of Dealing With Your Past by reflecting on specific memories and confronting our emotions and interpretations. By shining light on what happened, we can ask Jesus what he says about it. In the words of C.S. Lewis, "A sum can be put right: but only by going back till you find the error and working it afresh from that point, never by simply going on." To participate, visit practicingtheway.org/past.

Part 4: Generational Blessing

March 26, 2017

From the series "Dealing With Your Past" as part of Practicing The Way. We all inherited patterns from our family of origin and culture. Some of those patterns are unhealthy and out of line with the way of Jesus, and we need to break them in order to move forward. But others are a generational blessing that we need to celebrate. One of the key tasks of our apprenticeship to Jesus is to identify the ways in which our family line is blessed, and pass that blessing on to the next generation.

Part 3: Narrative Scripts

March 19, 2017

From the series "Dealing With Your Past" as part of Practicing The Way. Narrative scripts are the messages we’ve received during the course of our lives. They shape the way we think and act. Even though some of our internal narratives are untrue, we can ultimately be shaped by a God who creates a new and better narrative for his people.

Part 2: Relational Patterns

March 12, 2017

From the series "Dealing With Your Past" as part of Practicing The Way. When we press into our past, we discover patterns in our family of origin that have great influence in our lives. Identifying generational sin and brokenness is not a task for the faint of heart. But the ultimate goal is to uncover a framework for your life that will help you identify where you come from, so that you can better understand who you are, and where you’re going.
